Our team loves working with young people to resolve problems in childhood, We believe children are often more resilient and can overcome incredibly difficult circumstances and become healthy and happy adults with good teaching and support. Giving children and adolescents training in how to regulate their own emotions and improve their self-control helps them reduce negative behaviors at home and school and can have life-long impact. In Kingsville, Texas, we offer animal assisted therapy with horses, dogs and cats We .also offer play therapy, art therapy, and a variety of non-traditional, experiential modalities, such as archery, cooking, and yoga. We usually involve families in the young person's therapy, at least a few times a month, and can provide resources and homework activities for the family to support the therapeutic goals of the young person if appropriate. We have a special interest in attachment and trauma treatment and have worked extensively with youth in foster care. I have been a behavioral health social worker since 2016, and received my LCSW in 2018. I have owned and supervised my former clinic, Kelley Kids Ranch in Idaho and am currently developing A Better Tomorrow, in Kingsville, Texas and Lewiston, Idaho.. In addition to owning my own therapy clinic that specializes in trauma with children and adolescents and is one of the only equine therapy agencies credentialed with private insurance and Medicaid in Idaho, I have experience working in the emergency department of a regional hospital on the crisis intervention team, in an in-patient psychiatric unit, and in an outpatient behavioral health clinic with both adults and adolescents. I currently see 20 clients each week and teach social work to MSW and BSW students at Texas A&M University in Kingsville.
